Writer and Editor-in-Chief of Belgian Smaak, Breandán Kearney, and photographer, Ashley Joanna, uncovered 24 of the most exciting and interesting Belgian beers you likely never knew existed. Published in September 2024, their book, Hidden Beers of Belgium, is one part guide book to Belgian beer culture, one part beautiful photographic coffee table book. Bourgogne des Flandres, a historic brewery located on the canals of Brugge, needed a refreshed brand video to tell their story, showcase their beautiful location, and highlight their world-renowned beers. Lambic blendery Oud Beersel dates back to 1882 when Henri Vandervelden I began brewing his own spontaneously fermented Lambic beers. Through generational transfers, and after subsequent closures of the brewery, Gert Christiaens revived Oud Beersel in 2005. This video tells the story of Oud Beersel through the perspective of four people, each with their own perspective and appreciation for Oud Beersel’s rebirth. Filmed & Edited by Cliff Lucas.
